Walking into Your First Aesthetic Appointment? Here’s What to Expect

Starting any new skincare or aesthetic journey can feel exciting—and a little overwhelming. With so many treatment options, skincare myths, and viral trends, it’s hard to know where to begin.

That’s why, at Bethany Skin Solutions, every treatment starts with a conversation. Your first consultation is all about getting clear on your goals and creating a plan that fits your skin, lifestyle, and comfort level.

Let’s walk through what that looks like.

1. We Talk—No Pressure, No Sales Pitch

This is your time to ask questions, voice concerns, or simply share what brought you in. Maybe you’re noticing new fine lines. Maybe your skin’s been feeling dull. Maybe you just want to look a little more refreshed. Whatever it is, I’m here to listen—not sell.

“I’ll never rush you through a decision or recommend something just because it’s trendy. This process is about you.”
Bethany Brown, APRN

2. We Evaluate Your Skin

As a skin-first practice, I always start by looking at your skin health. We’ll discuss hydration, texture, pigmentation, sun exposure, and any products you’re currently using.

This helps me understand what’s happening below the surface and what treatments will support—not stress—your skin.

3. We Look at Facial Movement & Structure

For injectables, I observe how your face moves when you smile, raise your brows, or furrow your forehead. Every face is unique, and subtle changes in placement can make a big difference in creating natural, balanced results.

This is especially important when we’re planning treatments like Xeomin, fillers, or threads. My goal is always to enhance—not alter—your features.

4. We Create a Personalized Plan

Based on our conversation and your goals, I’ll walk you through recommended options. That might include injectables, microneedling, laser, skincare adjustments—or sometimes, just a great at-home regimen to get started.

If you’re not ready to move forward right away, that’s completely okay. There’s no pressure. Just a clear, thoughtful plan you can revisit when you’re ready.

5. We Talk Budget, Timeline, and Expectations

Transparency is important to me. If you’re working within a specific budget or time frame (say, prepping for an event), we’ll plan accordingly. You’ll always know the “why” behind any recommendation, along with expected downtime, follow-up, and cost.

You Deserve to Feel Informed and Confident

Whether you’re brand new to aesthetics or looking to switch providers, I want your first appointment to feel empowering. No pressure. No judgment. Just expert guidance and honest care—every step of the way.
